CURRICULUM
50+ units. Zero
guesswork.
Every lesson is mapped to national CS and math standards. Pick
a grade, pick a unit, and the rest is handled. Teacher prep is five minutes, tops.
A path for every grade
The curriculum is organized into grade bands. Each one builds on
the last. Students who start in kindergarten arrive at middle school
writing Python.
K
Kindergarten
Patterns, sequences, and simple directions. Mostly unplugged activities with a few screen sessions using symbol blocks.
6 units
1-2
Grades 1 and 2
Visual blocks, loops, events. Kids build animated stories and basic games. All projects save automatically so nothing gets lost.
8 units
3-5
Grades 3 to 5
Variables, functions, conditionals. Hybrid mode kicks in around grade 4. Students start reading JavaScript alongside their blocks.
14 units
6-8
Grades 6 to 8
Full Python. Classes, APIs, data visualization, web apps. The final capstone is a live website students deploy and share.
22 units
STANDARDS
Mapped to the standards
your district already uses
Every unit lists which CSTA standards it covers. The scope and sequence doc shows the full alignment in one spreadsheet your curriculum director can review in ten minutes.
Math connections are built into the projects, not tacked on. When a student writes a loop to draw a polygon, that's geometry. When they calculate a game score, that's arithmetic. The mapping is there if your admin needs to see it.

NGSS Practices
SAMPLE ALIGNMENT: GRADE 4, UNIT 7
CSTA 1B-AP-10
Create programs that include sequences, events, loops, and conditionals
CCSS 4.G.A.1
Draw and identify lines and angles, classify shapes by properties
ISTE 5c
Break problems into smaller parts, identify patterns, test solutions
What a unit looks like
Each unit runs 4 to 6 sessions. Here's a typical one from the grade 3 to 5 band.
GRADE 4
|
UNIT 7 OF 14
Polygon Maker
Students write code to draw shapes with precise angles and side lengths. Combines geometry with loop logic.
SESSION 1
Intro + Squares
Draw a square using a repeat loop
SESSION 2
Triangles + Turns
Calculate turn angles for 3 and 5 sided shapes
SESSION 3
Variables
Use a "sides" variable to draw any polygon
SESSION 4
Color + Style
Add fills, gradients, random colors to shapes
SESSION 5
Challenge
Build a kaleidoscope pattern from nested loops
TEACHER MATERIALS
Everything you need
is already there
Each unit ships with a lesson plan, a slideshow you can project, discussion prompts, a rubric, extension activities for fast finishers, and a parent letter explaining what kids are learning. We talked to over 300 teachers while building these materials. The number one request was "less prep." So that's what we optimized for.
Lesson plan
Objectives, timing, discussion prompts, 5 min prep
Slideshow
Project on the board, walk through the concept, 8 to 12 slides
Rubric
Built into each challenge, auto graded, exportable as CSV
Extensions
Bonus challenges for kids who finish early, keeps them busy

"I've tried four different coding curricula. Sparki is the only one where I didn't have to rewrite the lesson plans myself."
