Our support channel is staffed by former classroom teachers, not a ticket queue, and that promise only holds up if the people answering can actually picture the classroom on the other end. This is a part-time role built for someone still connected to teaching — a semi-retired teacher, a grad student, someone easing out of the classroom without leaving it entirely.
What you'll do
- Answer teacher questions over email and chat, typically responding within a school day
- Troubleshoot classroom-side issues: rostering hiccups, stuck lessons, dashboard confusion
- Flag recurring questions back to the curriculum and product teams as patterns, not one-offs
- Contribute short how-to articles to our internal help library as gaps come up
- Occasionally join a live onboarding training session as a second voice for Q&A
What we're looking for
- Classroom teaching experience, any grade band, any subject
- Comfortable writing clearly and warmly over email — tone matters as much as accuracy
- Patience for answering a similar question for the hundredth time without it showing
- Basic comfort with tech support workflows (help desk software, screen recordings, etc.)
- Available for a consistent 20 hours a week, ideally with some overlap with US school hours
Nice to have
- Prior experience in a help desk, customer support, or edtech role
- Experience with Google Classroom or Clever from the teacher side
Why this role
You don't have to choose between teaching and leaving teaching. This role exists because we didn't want to choose between "fast support" and "support that actually understands the classroom" — and the answer was hiring people like you instead of picking one.
