Most of our district deals don't start with a cold call — they start with a curriculum director who heard about Sparki from another district, or a teacher who's been running the free classroom tier and wants their whole school on it. Your job is to take that warm interest and turn it into a rollout that actually works, not just a signed contract.
What you'll do
- Own the full sales cycle for district and multi-school accounts, from first call to signed contract
- Run product walkthroughs for curriculum directors, superintendents, and technology leads
- Build pricing proposals for districts of varying sizes, working with our onboarding team on realistic rollout timelines
- Attend a handful of education conferences a year as a company representative
- Hand off closed accounts to Customer Success with real context, not just a CRM note
What we're looking for
- 3+ years in B2B sales, ideally selling into K-12 school districts or a similarly slow-moving buyer
- Comfort with long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders (IT, curriculum, finance, sometimes school boards)
- A consultative style — districts can tell the difference between someone selling software and someone solving a real problem
- Organized enough to manage 20+ active opportunities at different stages without anything slipping
- Genuine interest in education, even if you've never taught yourself
Nice to have
- Existing relationships with district technology or curriculum directors
- Experience selling procurement-heavy, RFP-driven software
- A background in education, even outside the classroom (admin, ed-tech support, tutoring)
Why this role
You're not selling something you have to talk yourself into. The product genuinely reduces the thing districts are most anxious about — a coding rollout that fizzles after one semester — and you'll have real case studies, not just slide decks, to back that up.
